Folsterhöhe Housing Development in Saarbrücken

description

brief description:

Folsterhöhe is a tower block complex on the outskirts of Saarbrücken, located approx. 3,5 km from the city centre, close to the French border. Around 2000 people live in these Plattenbau-style apartment buildings which date back to the 1960s. Plattenbau refers to a building whose structure is constructed of prefabricated concrete slabs (often deemed to be representative of the former GDR). The Folsterhöhe area is considered to be a trouble hotspot
