Peterberg Astronomical Observatory in Nonnweiler

description

brief description:

standing on top of the Peterberg hill in the northern Saarland, the astronomical observatory opened its doors to the public in 1997. The project was funded thanks to membership fees, donations, and personal contributions by the members of the Association of Amateur Astronomers of the Saarland (Verein der Amateurastronomen des Saarlandes e.V.), who are running the observatory in their spare time, getting visitors acquainted with and enthused about the universe. Members of the association also use the observatory equipment to conduct their own astronomical research
