Kleinblittersdorf town hall

description

brief description:

Beautifully restored building, originally built as a manor house in 1760. The owner Pierre de Hausen, a former dragoon captain, was appointed Mayor of Kleinblittersdorf in 1789. After his demise, the manor house became the property of Johann Georg Mohr, who had served as one of Napoleon I’s footmen. When Mohr died childless, the building was passed into the hands of the municipality of Kleinblittersdorf. It houses its administrative seat since 1802: first as a French „mairie“ and, from 1816 on, as a Prussian “Bürgermeisterei”. Since 2012, the Kleinblittersdorf town hall is an established arts and culture site which regularly houses exhibitions. Rather quiet location with old trees out front. A modern annex has been added behind the building, but it cannot be seen from the front.
