Marie-Henriette Pavilion

brief description:

This fin-de-siècle pavilion can be found nestled amidst the Park de Sept Heures in the centre of the city of Spa, famed for its healing hot mineral springs. The pavilion is composed of two historic round buildings, connected by a Belle Époque-style roofed arcade. While the building facing the city centre is being used by the Spa Tourism Bureau, the second building has been transformed to accommodate a public Pétanque terrain where people meet not only to play Boules but to make conversation sitting around the tables or at the bar. This is a busy place with a historic ambiance and lots of charm. The hall, adorned with stucco relief work boasts a rather peculiar décor with pin-ups on the walls and all types of cups and trophies won by the local team on display. Plaster peeling off the walls and the cupola ceiling, diffuse lighting, old mixing with new all this makes for a unique ambiance. Good infrastructure, parking, sanitary facilities available on site.
